Have we reached the peak or should I get in now and buy some more gold. Will it go to $2000?

Some are predicting it to go way beyond $2000. It all depends on your view of the economy. If you think riskier asset such as company shares will become more attractive (economic recovery) or if you believe investors will seek out safe havens such as gold and cash (economic decline or stagnation).

I think if we can learn anything from the past 9 months it's that nothing is predictible. Cycles that should take years are taking far shorter times.

Whether or not gold price will rise or fall depends on so many factors it can be mind boggling. Issues such as global political warfare, economic stability, confidence in the dollar, etc. etc.

My 2 cents worth is that gold will continue to inch higher until we have a full blown economic recovery.
